Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mixture. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician playing and singing at the local church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You a House 12 was released only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and is the mainstay of her live shows. She has also contributed her voice to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls the stage show of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
