Lauren Alaina quickly became a favorite among American Idol Season Ten's list of competitors unique in her looks and known for her dedication to God. She was born and raised in Rossville Georgia Lauren tapped into her talents as a singer when her cousin got diagnosed with a brain tumor. The diagnosis convinced Lauren to go after her singing dreams. Scotty was her very first fan in American Idol. It was a good fit for the two because they were Christians with similar roots. Even though Scotty won Lauren was less than thrilled to lose to a friend and kissed him repeatedly when it was revealed to be named the Proof of McLaina which is a couple nickname dubbed by Lauren and Scotty's supporters. Lauren kept the secret for several weeks. Scotty is now confirming that they are friends.
